Hoy, kumusta? Welcome back to Kaisipan!
May bago na namang study about AI adoption. Microsoft commissioned the International Data Corporation (IDC) to survey 4,000+ business leaders globally about how they're using AI. Result? Companies they call "Frontier Firms" or those aggressive in AI adoption are making three times more return than those who move slowly.
Ano ba yang Frontier Firms na yan? These are companies that aren't just experimenting with AI or using it for basic productivity hacks. They're deploying AI across an average of seven business functions like customer service, marketing, IT, product development, cybersecurity. They're not testing. They're scaling.
And the results? Frontier Firms report better outcomes at 4x the rate of slow adopters across brand differentiation (87%), cost efficiency (86%), revenue growth (88%), and customer experience (85%). Ito yung ilan sa mga Frontier Firms that used AI as part of their core operations:
BlackRock embeds AI into its Aladdin investment platform used by tens of thousands.
Mercedes-Benz uses AI across 30 car plants globally to optimize production and cut energy use by 20% in one paint shop.
Ralph Lauren built "Ask Ralph," an AI shopping assistant powered by Azure OpenAI that gives personalized style recommendations.
What Filipino businesses can learn:
Start broad, then go deep. Frontier Firms use AI in multiple functions, hindi lang marketing or customer service. Logistics companies can use AI for route optimization. Retailers can use it for inventory forecasting. BPOs can use it for quality assurance and real-time coaching.
Custom AI is the next move. 58% of Frontier Firms use custom AI solutions trained on their own data. For Filipino businesses, this could mean training AI on local dialects, customer behavior patterns, or region-specific supply chain data.
Agentic AI is coming fast. These are AI systems that don't just respond—they reason, plan, and act. Think AI that autonomously scans invoices for billing errors (like what Dow Chemical does) or AI agents that qualify leads and draft outreach emails. IDC estimates companies using agentic AI will triple in two years.
The brutal truth: According to the study, 22% of surveyed companies are Frontier Firms. 39% risk falling behind. Yung 39% na yan? They're stuck navigating security concerns, integration complexity, ethical considerations, and the challenge of scaling pilots into full production.
Sound familiar? That's where many Filipino businesses are right now. Aware of AI's potential pero di pa sure how to actually implement it at scale without breaking the bank or compromising data privacy.
IDC projects the global economic impact of AI will reach $22.3 trillion by 2030, which is roughly 3.7% of global GDP. That's massive redistribution of economic value. Countries and companies that move fast will capture disproportionate gains. Those that lag? They'll be playing catch-up in a game where the rules keep changing.
For the Philippines, this isn't just about keeping up with global trends. It's about equipping our entrepreneurs, startups, and even traditional businesses with the tools to compete not just locally, but globally. We already have talented developers, innovative founders, and resourceful business owners. What we need now is infrastructure, funding, and mindset shift.
The Frontier Firms are already three steps ahead.
The question is: Are we even in the race?

Bes, Ano Yung…LLM?
LLM stands for Large Language Model. It's the type of AI behind chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Basically, it's a computer program trained on massive amounts of text data from books, websites, articles, and conversations to understand and generate human-like responses.
Think of it as a very advanced autocomplete. When you type a message, the LLM predicts what words should come next based on patterns it learned during training. The "large" part refers to its size—billions or even trillions of parameters (settings that help it make decisions). The bigger the model, the more nuanced and accurate its responses tend to be.
Kapag nagtanong ka like "Explain photosynthesis," It generates an answer based on what it learned from its training data. It's not memorizing facts word-for-word but recognizes patterns in language to construct coherent, relevant responses.
Now, maraming nalilito between LLM and GPT. GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a specific type of LLM created by OpenAI. So all GPTs are LLMs, but not all LLMs are GPTs like how all iPhones are smartphones, but not all smartphones are iPhones. Google has Gemini, Anthropic has Claude, Meta has Llama. They're all LLMs with different names and capabilities.

Naga City Builds First AI City Planner in the Philippines
Naga City just secured P6.79 million to build the country's first AI City Planner. The goal? Use artificial intelligence to create a people-centered, sustainable transport and land-use system.
The Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DepDev) approved Naga's proposal as part of their 2025 Innovation Grants. According to Mayor Leni Robredo, the AI planner will enhance how the city monitors and evaluates transport and land-use projects—making planning more effective, data-driven, and people-centric.
This isn't Naga's first rodeo with digital governance. Earlier this year, they adopted a digitalized flood mitigation system using HEC-HMS modeling after Tropical Storm Crising exposed the city's flood vulnerabilities. They also launched the MyNaga App in August, bringing government services closer to residents through a paperless platform for permits, tax payments, and public documents.
Why does this matter beyond Naga? Because it's a proof of concept. And it’s more than just that. It shows what a true and capable leader brings to the table. If Naga pulls this off, other cities could follow. AI-powered urban planning means better roads, smarter public transport routes, more efficient land use—all grounded in actual data, not just guesses or political promises.
The bigger picture: Robredo is betting on open, digital, and participatory governance by 2028. That's three years to show that AI can make local government more responsive and transparent. If it works, Naga becomes a model. If it doesn't, it's an expensive experiment.
Pero for now, the funding is approved and secured. Let’s see how Robredo will execute this in Naga.

Gemini 3: Google's Newest Smartest AI Model

Eto na nga, tinatapatan na ni Google si OpenAI at nahigitan pa! Google DeepMind just dropped Gemini 3 Pro this week, and nag-top agad siya ng LMArena Leaderboard with 1501 Elo score. Meaning it’s the best-performing AI model globally right now based on user voting.
May 1 million token context window pa that's roughly 750,000 words or around 1,500 pages, or about 11 hours of video. Ibig sabihin, kaya niyang i-process ang isang dissertation or full-length lecture series in one sitting.
Content creators can generate interactive infographics or animated data visualizations in one prompt. Walang Canva, walang design skills needed. Developers can also build functional landing pages, playable web games, or 3D educational simulations without writing complex code. Students analyzing thick academic papers? Ask it to create interactive flashcards or visual study guides.
Some are even one-shotting Lego builders, globe simulators, and even nuclear power plant explainers with 3D renders. The "vibe coding" capability works like magic where you vibe check your idea, it generates working code with visuals.
Para sa Filipino users building side projects, creating content, or developing portfolios, this is a game-changer. Production-quality outputs without needing advanced skills.

Prompt Tip!
Planning to buy something expensive or make a life-changing decision? Or maybe you’re just indecisive? This prompt builds a hidden decision-making questionnaire. Hindi siya direktang magtatanong about your decision.
Instead, it creates 10-15 that indirectly probe your values, fears, priorities, and constraints. Think of it as a personality quiz designed to surface what actually matters to you without bias.
You are designing a decision-making questionnaire. First, ask me: “In one or two sentences, what decision are you trying to make?” After I answer, create 10–15 questions that:
Never mention the decision or options directly.
Indirectly probe my preferences, values, fears, constraints, and priorities.
Each question targets one clear factor that could influence the decision.
For each question:
Say if it’s Single-select or Multi-select.
Provide 5–10 distinct answer choices.
Encode real trade-offs (e.g., time vs. money, risk vs. stability) without naming them.
Do NOT explain your logic or the mapping. Ask one question at a time.
Useful ito when you're torn between options like job offers, business ideas, or major life decisions but you can't articulate why. The AI won't explain its logic or reveal the mapping, so walang leading questions. You just answer honestly, then review your responses to spot patterns.
Paste the prompt in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Answer the initial question about your decision, then go through the questionnaire. After completing it, look at your answers. You'll see where you naturally lean based on the patterns in your responses.

Meme

As a writer, using AI detectors feels pointless. AI detectors use AI to detect AI. Parang nagpa-drug test ka pero yung tester mismo ay high. But real talk, students need to learn how to write without AI kasi pag di nila natutunan mag-articulate, good luck sa job interviews at real life conversations na walang "regenerate response" button.

Palaisipan
[Last week’s palaisipan]
Yes, this is AI-generated using Google’s Nano Banana.

PROMPT: An abstract painting that looks hand-made and imperfect: uneven brush strokes, subtle paint clumps, faint streaks where a brush was lifted too early, and colors that bleed slightly into each other. Use layered textures that mimic dried acrylic over canvas, with tiny inconsistencies like faint pencil marks beneath the paint and areas where the pigment is thicker or thinning. Composition should feel intentional but ambiguous—some shapes hinting at figures or landscapes without clearly forming them.
